Eva-lution: 1 thru 12 weeks

Many have been asking, where are photos of Eva? How is she doing in her first three months of life?

These following photos will tell you. They’ll also tell you where we’ve been. It’s the start of a photo journey we’re calling “Eva-lution.” Clever, eh?

I must come clean and admit that I ripped off this idea from pro bloggers Sherry and John Petersik over at Young House Love — I had corresponded with them briefly when we were in Richmond (our first tour city as a family!) and fell in love with their daughter Clara’s photo project. They even have an instructional blog post on how they produced their photos, down to the Photoshop technique for the lettering on the onesie. Yup, the wonders of technology! Then when Eva was almost two weeks and the haze of birth lifted a little, I thought, what the hey! I could do the same! (My camera skills aren’t up to snuff though.) Thanks, Sherry and John!

The backdrops used in these photos aren’t random. They place us, in our travels ’round the country. They remind us of who we were with and what we were doing at the time. Right now at three months old, Eva’s living in her fourth city (although she’s briefly traveled through and stayed overnight in four others — Montclair, NJ; Dover, DE; Chappaqua, NY and Middletown, DE). Girl’s a jet car-setter!

Click on each photo to see it larger and read about where Eva was when it was taken. And rest assured, her faux-hawk has stayed put and her gas is just as noxious as the first day we smelled it. Love this gal!

As you can see, I progressively got more comfortable with the camera as the weeks went on. I’ll be posting updates every month or so on Eva’s growth. Thanks for joining us on this Eva-lution!

It would be cool to save at least some of the the ordered fabric for a quilt for her at the end of tour life.
